New York/Rhode Island Trip 2010
We're finally home! On August 4, Brody, Ali, my dad and I set off for upstate NY for a fun filled week of vacation. The trip went very smoothly and we had a wonderful time spending time with family in absolutly gorgeous weather.
On the 10th, we picked up Jon in Albany to drive over to Rhode Island for the remainder of the week. The drive was going smoothly until Brody threw up 20 minutes away from Mimi's house. Like any good parents, we pulled off the highway to clean him off and get him changed. It wasn't until we arrived in RI that we realized that Brody's prized "big firetruck" was left on the side of the highway in Mass. Thank goodness for Nana who overnighted a new replacement. We again had a fabulous time enjoying the weather, ocean, family and friends.
The return trip wasn't so smooth...
Since Jon had to work, he flew out Monday morning leaving my friend Gretchen and I to weather the excruciatingly long drive home. Everything was going great until we reached the NY state line and...Brody stikes again! Luckily we were close to Auntie Lisa's house and were able to stop, visit, eat, and clean up Brody and the car. In addition to that speed bump, we also hit ridiculous traffic in New Jersey. Needless to say, I am very happy to be home but definately sad for our vacation to be over. The pictures of the trip are on seperate posts since there are so many of them!

6 Weeks
Alison is continuing to do very well. She weighed 9 lbs 4 oz at her 1 month appointment and is continuing to eat like a horse. She has started smiling this week and I almost got a picture of it! She still has a wonderful disposition and is so easy all day and night. Hopefully, now that she is getting bigger, she'll start sleeping longer at night...fingers crossed!
BBQ
getting ready to get out and jump in
We went to Tom and Amy's house for a BBQ on Saturday. We all had a blast and were so happy to spend the day with Rick, Jen and their son Ryder who live in Kansas. Brody had fun in the pool jumping in and out and practicing his swimming using the noodles. In fact, as evident in the pictures, it looks like he had too much fun!

4 Weeks
Alison is still doing great. She is starting to realize that its way more comfy to have mommy hold her than to lay in her crib. She is also eating like a horse! I am sure she is making up for lost time. It's funny how much she looks like Brody when he was this age but at the same time, looks like me when I was a baby! She is definately chunking up nicely:)
Fourth of July
Maxin' and relaxin'
Captain Brody
We had a pretty relaxed 4th of July this year. It was very hot so we decided to take the water taxi into downtown Annapolis. This seemingly innocent trip only occured after I blew out my flipflop carrying Ali and Jon forgot his wallet resulting in us having to deboard the water taxi and waiting up to 1 hour for the next one. Once we got into town, we enjoyed a nice lunch outside and walked around. We missed the fireworks as Brody was too tired to stay awake. We did attend a very long parade in Severna Park on the morning of the 5th that Brody seemed to really like due to the many firetrucks! Alison slept the whole morning and was not bothered by all of the noise. All in all, a great weekend!
