Halloween 2013

Halloween has come and gone and again, I am very behind in posting pictures. The kids had a great time at their parade, and a better time at a neighborhood Halloween party. Trick or treating was a success for Brody, not so much for Ali (daddy took her home). I can't believe how much candy they got!!!!

Happy Birthday Mimi

We surprised Mimi by coming up to Rhode Island, then again by throwing her a surprise party! She loved it!!! Unfortunately this is the only picture I have from the whole weekend:( The kids had a blast and were super sad to leave!

Too many stamps!!

We spent last Friday at the Shillings for a happy hour. There were 6 moms and roughly 20 kids!!! Needless to say, I lost track of Alison for a bit and she looked like this when she emerged! Brody also had his first sleepover at the Wills house that night. He packed his suitcase with a toothbrush, monkey, pajamas, and homework! What a turkey!!!

Block party

Had an awesome day up on Ulmstead Circle today. The street was shut down and we spent the day hanging out with many fun families!! As you can see, Brody was a bit tired when we got home!!

Lilly's Birthday Party

Ali's best bud, Lilly, had her third birthday last Saturday. It was quite the affair! There were bounce houses, water slides, and even Cinderella visited (which she could care less about!) the party was during nap time and it was super hot out, hence the picture below. All in all, she had a fantastic time!

Alison has started dance! It's hilarious and the little girls in the class are just too adorable. I CAN NOT wait until the recital! ! I have a feeling this is just the beginning!

Brody's First Day of Kindergarten

Brody's first day at Broadneck started off wonderfully! He was so excited to go on the bus and see his friends. The ride home, that was a different story...somehow his teacher put him on the wrong bus and didn't make it home to the bus stop. After much drama, my mom and our neighbor drove to school to meet Brody exiting off the wrong bus safe and sound. Lets just say after I went to school after work, everyone knows who Brody Lane is and what bus he rides. The funny part is all the parents clapped the next time he got off the bus successfully!!!

Lego Drama

After 5 years of no curiosities in an open hole of the face, Brody decided to shove 2 Lego headlights up his nose in the back seat of Nana's car coming home from camp. As he choked and screamed, my mom drove immediately to the ER. I arrived shortly after to find a quiet boy on a hospital bed zoned out on TV. The staff was awesome and they extracted it very quickly! If course it was my first day back at school!!! What a way to begin a year!

Mudders and Dads

These two... They have set up a house in the front yard and are playing house. They are hilarious calling each other honey, driving the kids around with the "carseat" in the back, and yelling at the dolls to stop whining. Brody told Ali after she forgot her hello kitty purse in the house, "let's go honey! You're killing me!!!" It is super entertaining!

Dentist!!!

Ali's first visit to the dentist was a huge success! She didn't cry and was excited to have her teeth counted! Bad news was the dentist told us the she will definitely need orthodontics:( guess we will start saving now!!!

Perfect Summer Evening

Saturday night we met a few families from our neighborhood at the beach park at the end of the road. The kids had a blast playing with the kids there, eating dinner, and enjoying a gorgeous sunset on the Magothy River. When it got dark out, Brody and I rode our bikes home ( his new favorite mode of transportation) while Jon and Ali drove home. Jon and I then made our way down to the docks to continue our evening on Amy and Tim's boat. It was a perfect night for a cruise and midnight swim!

Last swim lesson of 2013

Brody had his last swim lesson with coach Colleen today. It's amazing how much better of a swimmer he has become! He loves the back stroke and is pretty good at it! We have definately secured his spot on the 2014 Ulmstead Ducks swim team already!!

Red Sox game

Jon got club level tickets to the Red Sox and orioles game Friday night. It was beautiful outside and we had a blast even though they lost:( Brody has decided he wants to be an Orioles fan now...I think Jon may die!

Water park

Awesome day at the water park today! We met a bunch of other Ulmstead families so the kiddos had a lot of people to play with. The kids fell asleep within about a mile of leaving! 

Someone passed the swim test!!

Brody had a birthday party at our pool last Wednesday and peer pressure prevailed, he decided to take the swim test so he could jump off the diving boards into the deep end. He did such a great job swimming the length of the pool and treading water for 1 minute!!! He then proceeded to jump off the diving board for four hours!!! He even started taking private swim lessons with the swim coach the very next day! Swim team 2014, here we come!!
