So, last weekend, as I innocently lay on the couch, Brody threw a wood toy train in the air and it nailed me in the face. It then promptly gave me a black eye. This is the what it looked like about three days after the incident. He felt bad, mostly because I was yelling and carrying on, which I think scared him into crying! I apologize for the lack of makeup:)

Kaz and Brody

We were so happy that Courtney and Kaz were able to come to Mary's house to play for an afternoon. The boys had fun playing when they weren't fighting over the same toy (how typical). The highlight of the visit was when Kaz wanted Mimi and Brody got very jealous and almost ripped her shirt trying to get on her lap. Kaz really didn't seem to care too much!
Back to NY

We went back up to NY on a Tuesday morning so we could greet the Biancas and Tenneys at the airport (my family from Washington State). It was wonderful seeing them and we were so happy that we got to spend a few days with them. We spent the whole rest of the week playing around at my Aunt Kathy's house. We also went Go-Cart Racing, played in the pool, had bonfires, and Jon played 3 rounds of golf. All in all, very fun trip!
You will notice there are alot of pictures of golf carts, gators, etc. Brody was OBSESSED with them. I don't know why, but I have no pictures or videos of him on the electric 4-wheeler. He got right on that thing, pushed the button and went as fast as he could (sometimes into a car) down the road. It was kind of hysterical.
The Strough's

We finally got to meet the newest member of my friend Meghan's family, her son Riley. He was such a good baby (of course:). It was great to watch Caroline and Brody play and hang out with Meg. We were able to go to the playground, out to lunch, have a sleepover, and swim at the pool which was great since we don't get to see them very often. The kids got along really well and we are anticipating a New Hampshire weekend together hopefully very soon!
The beach

Auntie Aoife's shades

We were able to go to the beach twice while in RI. We went to Sand Hill Cove in Narragansett which is a calmer beach and more geared towards families. THe first day was kind of cool and it sprinkeled a little which was fine by me because it was perfect for Brody...less sun=Less people! My friends Aoife, Lisa, and Gretch all came too to assist. He had a blast running up and down the beach and in and out of the water. The highlight (for me anyways) was when Brody got mad a headbutted the beach when I was trying to corral him and got sand all over himself. It was hysterical because he didn't know what to do so he just made a face. After we took his picture and discussed the best way to de-sand him, Auntie Lisa decided it was best to take him into the ocean and dunk him in the waves...which worked fine by everyone thank goodness.
The next day, the weather was much better and Jon was able to come too. Brody turned out to be quite the toy theif, but finally calmed down when he shared toys with another family there. All in all, it was great to get down there, snack on some Iggy's clamcakes and chowder, get some lobsters off the boats, and grab some replacement URI gear for Brody and I. I am SO happy that Brody loves the ocean and the beach as much as we do!
Hanging out at Mimi's house

ham-bone

When we finally made it to RI, Brody had a whole new batch of toys and people to play with. He loved pretending to sleep in Mimi's bay window and one morning, he actually fell asleep there! She had tons of matchbox cars and construction trucks to play with which was great since that is his new obsession. She also had a fenced in back yard which was crucial because Brody is strangely drawn to the road
