Blizzard 2009 part 2

Soaking in some winter rays

24 inches later...

Our savior Vin came to shovel us out...What a guy!!!

When all was said and done, we had about 24 inches of snow. It was the 6th biggest storm on record ever here. We didn't have school today or tomorrow so far. The roads are still pretty bad because they have no idea how to plow down here! Mandy and Vin picked up Brody and I on Sunday to hang out for a while. After naptime, we all geared up and went to the Stanger's Winter Wonderland for some sledding, 4-wheeling, and food. I think that I ruined sledding for B forever. We went down the big hill you see on a saucer and were definately going too fast (He didn't mind...). I had to put my heels in the snow to slow down and all of the snow sprayed up in B's face. He then started to scream "COLD" and then we crashed landed. He went and stood in the garage and refused to go up again (I also realized that it wasn't the best idea for me either!). He did have alot of fun playing with his friends inside though...

Blizzard 2009 part 1

The snowfall as of 10 this morning
So excited about my new blocks

Trying on my new boots
Brody and I were snowed in today because of the "blizzard". It snowed out very hard all day and we couldn't have gone anywhere if we wanted to. Unfortunately Jon is out of town so it was just B and I to play all day. I had to shovel around noon just so I coulld open the door! I would estimate that we have at least 20 inches outside right now and its still snowing!!!! Brody isn't feeling that great so I was leary about bringing him out in it. I will try tomorrow and I will post the "after" pictures of the storm. Looks like Christmas vacation will start early!!!

Our Tree

Here is Brody enjoying the tree. Strangely enough, he doesn't care much about it and doesn't bother it at all. We still don't trust him so all of the nice ornaments are at the top!

O Christmas Tree

We cut down our Christmas tree a few Sundays ago and luckily it was after our first snow of the season so the drive was really pretty. Brody enjoyed running around the first tree farm we went to, unfortunately, it was pretty picked over. When we arrived to the next tree farm, Brody fell asleep in the back seat so I stayed with him while Jon picked out our tree. Again, we have a beautiful tree (not to brag or anything).

Pee Pee Potty

I bought Brody a new potty at Target along with some Christmas paper and presents. He has been pretty interested in the potty lately. As you can tell, all he wanted to do with the potty is ride it like a bike and hold onto the Christmas paper. I tried sitting him on the potty without his diaper on and he jumped up and yelled "cold". Maybe in the spring...

Thanksgiving week pictures

I admit, recently I have become a slacker with the blog. I am hoping to resume my timliness with uploading after the holidays. These pictures are from Thanksgiving at Mimi's and at the park the weekend before Christmas. He is very hard to capture smiling lately...

Happy Early Thanksgiving!

So it's official, Brody is going to be a big brother. I am almost out of my first trimester and THANK GOD. I have felt awful most everyday, even worse than with Brody. The doctor even put me on anti-nausea medicine to help. We are due June 10th which is the last day of school for me (if we don't have a million snow days). I am going to pray to GOD that I have it earlier so for the sake of my ever growing belly. I have already popped and need to wear my belly band or maternity pants...kill me now.
As for other news, Brody is getting over walking pneumonia (like his dad) and is terrorizing our house. He is a typical toddler and as of last Wednesday, weighs in at 31.5 lbs. No wonder the doctor told me not to lift him!
We are going to the doctors twice this week for a three month appt. and the specialist appt (which I love bc they have the 3-D sonogram). They said that we should be able to tell the sex in January...I can't stand the wait!
We are going to Rhode Island for THanksgiving so I will definately have a ton of pictures to share so check back then. Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!

Trick or Treat!

Mommy and B

Lovin' the lights at people's houses

We were invited to return to Mandy, Vin, and Ashley's house for trick or treating this year and we definately had a great time (minus the rain). THe kids were totally into it, sprinting up and down the street in their costumes while fearlessly getting candy in their baskets. Back at the ranch, they had treats for young and old...candy for trick or treaters and cups of beer for parents. After trick or treating, Brody enjoyed helping to pump the keg while Ashley returned to the streets for more candy. It was a very fun time and we hope that we can do it again next year!

Llama Farm

Squealing with delight!
Making sure he didn't get into the stall (which is what he tried to do)

Watching the llama outside

Daddy and Brody, the easiest way to wrangle him!

We went to get a few more pumpkins at Homestead Gardens again. This time it was nice out so we went for a hay ride to a Llama barn. Brody was hysterical! He was so excited. He got to pet one and it licked his face! You can tell how excited he was in some of these...

Back seat photo shoot

On our way back from getting pumpkins Sunday, Brody and I stayed in the car while Jon went into Trader Joe's for some snacks. Meanwhile...we had a photo shoot!

Playing monster

Brody has recently become obsessed with monsters. He loves cookie monster, acting like a monster, reading "Where the Wild Things Are" over and over, and mostly, playing monster (which he will play tirelessly FOREVER). Here is Brody and Mimi playing monster...make sure the volume is up so you can hear his roar :) Sorry it is so dark.

Aquarium

Lovin' the fish

Brody on a leash

I think the bubbles were his favorite part!

Grumpy butt

Last weekend, Mimi and Auntie Kate came to visit. The weather was awful but we managed to have alot of fun at the aquarium before the meltdown commenced. I SWORE TO GOD that I was never going to put a leash on my child, but look, I have proof that I am a liar. I have to admit, it was super handy. Especially since Brody was hell bent on running throughout the entire place for two hours and could really care less where we were. We kind of pushed him to far taking him to the dolphin show though. He kept saying "all done" and throwing his crackers around. The picture speaks a thousand words...
