Melt down

I am such a mean mom! Brody only took a 20 minute nap this afternoon so needless to say, he was quite miserable. I was playing on the bed with him and he had a piece of paper. I took it away because he was eating it and this is what happened...I had to video it because I was laughing so hard!

Family BBQ

On Saturday, the Rockwell's had a "Meet the babies" BBQ. We were able to see my cousin Mike's son Nolan (12 months) and my cousin Missy's baby Quinn (4 months). We had so much fun playing in the pool and hanging out with everyone. We havn't seen them in a year! Here are some pictures of the babies together, playing in the pool, and the "after party". I can't wait to do it again next year!

Back from Our Tour of New England

Brody and I drove back from RI on Monday and he was sooooo good! It didn't take very long at all (2 and 1/2 hours to NY where we stopped to visit my friend Lisa and 4 hours to MD with one stop). We had a wonderful time in upstate NY where Brody got to meet my side of the family as well as a few new members) and also in RI where I was in my friend Gretchen's wedding. It was so good to see everyone and we are planning on doing it again next summer. Jon was able to fly out both weekends (becuase he had to work) so as to not miss any fun! I am going to have to put up a few posts to get all of the pictures in. Hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of July!
Here is Brody with his Great Grandma Jake, Nana Rockwell, and Grampie Rockwell. If you can't tell, he loves to stick his tongue out!

Trying to Crawl

Here is video of Brody trying to crawl and another video of him ignoring me (as usual) and doing whatever he wants! We couldn't get the tongue on video, but we got a picture of it! Jon took it and he'll do anything to make daddy laugh!

6 month check up

Brody had his 6 month check up and is doing wonderfully! He weighs 20 lbs, 5 oz and is 27 inches tall (92% for weight and 85% for height). Also, the doctor said that he is meeting or exceeding milestones for eight months! He can already sit up by himself, say "dada, baba", and creep/roll around on the floor. She also said that he is starting to teeth, but teeth may not pop out for another month or more!!!! I hope that this teething stuff ends soon, he is quite miserable. I tried to video tape him rolling around the floor last night, but all he did was turn upside down, stick out his tongue, and laugh. He thinks that he is really funny! Only 2 more days until we meet the Rockwell family. We are very excited!

Back from Vacation

We returned from a very relaxing vacation Saturday. The weather was kind of unpredictable, but Brody was able to have his first experience at the beach! The ride down was eight hours as was the ride back. We realized at this time that his infant seat was too small and he was absolutely miserable in it when he was awake. When we got there, we also discovered that Brody was not cutting one, but both of his bottom teeth. They haven't popped up yet, but you can see them under the skin. Needless to say, he was a "treat" to be around the whole week:) We did have alot of fun though lounging on the beach. The house was amazing! I have attached a bunch of pictures from our trip. Jon even brought home a souvenir that landed him in the ER twice this weekend...a staph infection in his neck! After becoming allergic to the first antibiotic, we had to rush him back to switch it. He is feeling much better now. Tomorrow is Brody's six month check up and I will make sure to report back.

Wild Man

So my sweet little baby is starting to turn into a crazy man. He loves to hear himself scream in varying lengths and decibels all day. Also, he likes to throw himself backwards while your holding him because he likes to look at things upside down. He also does this while he is sitting up so we have to put a pillow behind him so he doesn't smash his head. Finally (and this is the best), he learned to smash things and throw them. He has a set of keys that he loves to smash on his high chair as hard as he can. Then he throws them across the room and laughs. I stupidly left an open water bottle that was full on his high chair yesterday and he picked it up with two hands and dumped it on his face and body ( I think he thought it was his bottle!). He thought it was hysterical until he realized he was soaked and then proceeded to scream. That was fun. This will probably be the last post until after our trip to North Carolina. I hope he decides to bring his awesome sleep habits with him on our vacation. I can't imagine getting up with him in the middle of the night again! Have a wonderful 4th everyone!
