We had a pretty relaxed 4th of July this year. It was very hot so we decided to take the water taxi into downtown Annapolis. This seemingly innocent trip only occured after I blew out my flipflop carrying Ali and Jon forgot his wallet resulting in us having to deboard the water taxi and waiting up to 1 hour for the next one. Once we got into town, we enjoyed a nice lunch outside and walked around. We missed the fireworks as Brody was too tired to stay awake. We did attend a very long parade in Severna Park on the morning of the 5th that Brody seemed to really like due to the many firetrucks! Alison slept the whole morning and was not bothered by all of the noise. All in all, a great weekend!

Alison has just started to become interested in her playmat. This is a video of her watching the toys today...pretty exciting, I know!

Hanging out

Alison has continued to be a wonderful baby. She has recently started pigging out when she eats, she even sounds like one! Brody has been warming up to her, telling people to look at his baby, giving her a pacifier if he finds one, and feeding her a bottle in the morning. I tried to take a picture of any of this and he immediately stops doing what he's doing! Alison has been sleeping five hour stretches at night which makes mommy a happy lady and a functioning human being. I hope that she continues to be easy going!

Ali's First Bath

As you can see, Alison is NOT a fan of the bath. She has been getting better as I have been giving her one every other day because its so very, very hot outside and the poor little one has been getting quite sweaty. Hopefully she'll stop screaming soon...

3 Weeks Old

So far so good in the Lane household. Two kids are WAY harder than one, but we are getting the hang of it slowly but surely. Ali is an awesome baby and sleeps for 5 hour stretches at night. She hardly ever cries and is an absolute dream! These are some pictures from last week when Mimi came to visit.

Welcome Alison Reese

We welcomed Alison Reese Lane into the world June 4, 2010 at 12:57 am. She weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and measured 19 inches. She is a wonderful baby and we are so excited to have her join our family. Big brother Brody was NOT to happy to meet her, however, he is getting a little better each day. It a much bigger adjustment having two children rather than one, but we are looking forward to mastering it, hopefully pretty soon!
